Whenever I’m out and about, the thing that I get the most compliments on is ~actually~ my makeup. I specifically get complimented on under-eye glitter or glitter eyeliner. I’ve started to wear this type of product in the past two or three years and spoiler alert, it’s inspired by K-pop. As you might have learned from a recent post, K-pop has influenced me a lot when it comes to fashion and beauty; if you want to read more about how it inspires me in fashion, check out the post below:
One of the techniques I’ve seen K-pop idols use is glitter under their eyes and close to their aegyo sal, which is the little and puffy area of under-eyes. This technique and style are done quite often because it makes you look young or youthful. I’ve played around with eyeliner to highlight my aegyo sal, but, for me, the glitter method is my preferred way to show off my eyes.
Like everyone, I have a main muse when it comes to beauty, and some of you might be surprised to know my biggest beauty inspiration is not a member a Blackpink, it’s actually a member of Red Velvet. My K-pop beauty muse is actually Red Velvet’s Irene since we have a similar face shape. (Bunny girls for life!)
I noticed that the glitter under her eyes made her eyes look wider and larger, and I decided to try that technique one day, and I fell in love. I’ve been doing my makeup like this for a long time now, and it’s become a signature look. Without fail, whenever I’m out, I always get compliments and ask where I get the products to achieve this look.
I am typically bad, like really, really bad at regular eyeliner, but somehow, this works for me. I use a mix of products to achieve this, but all of these items can be purchased from Teso, online, and more. For now, I’m going to share the products that I typically use to achieve this look below.
3CE
I am a huge fan of 3CE, and this product was the first time that I used a glitter eyeliner, and from there, it changed everything. At one point, I had this product in four-plus shades in my apartment, but sadly, a lot of them expired, so I am looking forward to replacing them! I currently have two shades!
Flortte
This is a newer brand to me, and it’s life-changing; this is a Chinese beauty brand, and the packaging is much smaller than the 3CE ones, and it’s more affordable. I also love how cute and fun the packaging is (you can click the link to see the shades!) I use this all the time, and it’s my goal to collect every single color; so far, I have four of the eight shades. There are a handful of these that are matte, but I like glittery ones.
