The Best Beauty Stores To Shop In NYC's K-Town
K-beauty, C-beauty and J-beauty stores galore, here's where to get all the best things.
As a K-pop fan and lover of Korean food, I spent a lot of time in K-town. Although the K-Town in Manhattan is quite tiny, it’s still chock full of things, from incredible K-beauty shops and Korean restaurants to K-pop stores and so much more. I’m not sure if this will be up before or after, but I am planning on sharing a K-pop fan’s guide to K-town in the future. However, right now, we’re going to talk all about K-beauty.
K-beauty has become incredibly popular in the past couple of years for a million different reasons. From skincare to makeup and beyond, it’s everywhere. So, if you’re looking to restock your K-beauty collection or explore the world of K-beauty, I’ve got you covered. I will say that I am sharing with you my favorite K-beauty stores. There are other stores where you can get K-beauty, but these are my favorites.
Ume Cosme
This is one of my go-to stores for K-beauty or overall Asian beauty products in NYC. This spot has a lot of more indie or niche brands that are hard to find in the US. Recently, I was in a store picking up a liquid blush, and their staff told me that they would be getting in some new brands and that they would be exclusive to this store to this store in NYC. I can’t wait to pop in and check out the brand. Out of every K-beauty store in this area, here they have the best selection of eyeshadow palettes.
Teso
This is another shop that has beauty from all over the world. I am deeply passionate about Teso. Teso, if you’re reading this, let’s work together, seriously! Teso has Asian beauty products from all over the world. They have a lot of viral Japanese beauty products that are hard to come by in the USA. As I was prepping for my Japan trip, I was collecting a list of beauty items to purchase during my trip, and I found that almost every single one could be found at Teso. Teso is where my love for Flortte comes from and really opened me up to more Chinese beauty products, which I have fallen in love with.
I would say this has the best range if you’re looking for skincare, haircare, and makeup. If you’re ever in the area of one, I highly recommend checking them out. It’s a Japanese chain store that you can find throughout the city. They carry everything, including snacks and blind boxes! BRB working on a love letter to Teso.
Besfren Beauty
This is a better option for finding skincare products and even colored contacts. I do not go here as much as the other spots in the area, but it still has a ton of well-priced K-beauty products. I love going in here to explore because sometimes they have items that the other stores do not have. I’ve purchased a lot of blush and eye shadows here.
Kosette
This has a mix of both skincare and makeup, and the other side of the store, although separate, is where you can get Korean books and K-pop albums. It’s the most expensive out of the options listed here, but I think they have the best selection of cushion foundations. They also have a great collection of socks and hair accessories here. This spot is special to me because it is the first store that I went into and saw K-beauty in real life. They have a lot of the more popular brands, and it’s super easy to navigate because it is well organized.
H-Art Mart
If you go to the second floor of the H-Mart in K-town, you will find a mini beauty store upstairs. This is the newest addition to this list. Although the store is certainly the smallest, it has so many products! Every time I go to this store, I find another product to fall in love with. They also frequently host events. It’s also the most low-key of all of these.
