Exploring My Personal Aesthetics: Mood Boards Included
A deep dive into my multiple style personalities.
I was really inspired to create this post after reading another Substacker’s post about their made-up winter aesthetics. I’ve probably read this post about a million times, and I deffo resonate with a bunch of their ~ aesthetics.~
After reading this article, I was thinking about my overall aesthetics and style personas. I decided, since we’re all multi-faceted people that I would share a few of my own personal aesthetics and different elements of my personal style with you guys, including mood boards.
Before reading this post, I highly recommend checking out the post that inspired this, which you can find below:
It’s been a lot of fun naming them and really breaking down my personal style. It’s also nice to give these different names or labels. I’ve broken down my big six. I think creating mood boards and describing different styles or “personalities” is a great styling activity, especially if you’re feeling a little lost with your personal style.
To be fair to myself, this is how I dress when I leave my apartment. I did not include my typical WFH aesthetic, which is stretchy pants with an oversized top. I also always keep my hair in a bun.

Bunny Soft
If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s my love for softness and bunnies. Mohair is one of my favorite materials, and Cashmere is, too. There’s nothing I love more than looking and feeling soft. Soft also happens to be one of my three fashion words. I aspire to be as soft as a bunny.
Creature Feature
I love animals; that is no secret. Chances are that if I see a pup on the street or in my apartment building, it makes my entire week or at least my day. So it makes perfect sense that in my wardrobe you’ll find animal motifs of all kinds. Bunnies, dogs, snakes, and bears are my favorite animals to wear. However, I do want to include animal prints here. I do not own a lot of animal print pieces. However, one of the most worn and oldest pieces in my collection is a snake print skirt.
The Dark Academic
Have I been out of school for ten years? Yes. Do I still like to dress like I’m perpetually in school? Also, yes. Dark academia also happens to be one of my favorite genres and niche aesthetics when it comes to books. Yes, sometimes I want to dress like I go to a magical school in the middle of England. I often wear this one of my style personas when I’m attending meetings. As I’m writing this, I’m currently in plaid trousers with a cashmere sweater.
Frenchie
When people describe my personal style, it often gets described as French-inspired. I always get super proud when my style gets described that way. I want to look effortless and chic with one thing undone, just the right amount. So it should come as a surprise to no one that this persona is something on here. I may not be a red lipstick girl, but I always do my best to master the French girl look. My biggest influence is Camille Yolaine, who has been on here multiple times.
I’m Just Like The Other Girls
I love a good minimalist look because it’s chic and cool, and that’s how I’d like to be perceived. There’s nothing like a classic oversized blazer, tee, loafers and jeans. This kind of look makes me feel like I have my life together. However, this is where my personal style differs from being “just like the other girls.” This look typically has minimal jewelry, but you’ll never catch my accessory game slipping. When you typically see someone pair a look like this with a sleek gold or silver piece, chances are, I’ll pair it with pearls or something a little more fun. More of my love for accessories:

XOXO Gossip Girl
If something is ladylike and has pearls and bows, I am so there. Ironically, I didn’t really add pearls on here. Think classic Chanel and old money but with a modern twist. I am someone who loves to look expensive but can’t afford it (I’m a writer, after all.) Other than Gossip Girl, my main muse with this look is Jennie Kim, who I’ve talked about below:
